Customers and selling
Online ordering
Let guests order pickup from your own page with your Square menu, pause orders, and mark items sold out.
Guests order pickup from your own page, using your Square menu and prices, and pay through your Square.
Where it lives
Settings, the Ordering & app tab, Online ordering. Online ordering is part of plans that include it; if yours doesn't, Settings says so. It isn't offered to trades businesses.
Turn it on, step by step
The page saves each step as you go:
- Where the menu comes from: choose Use my Square for ordering (or Connect Square for ordering). If it says connecting Square for ordering isn't switched on yet, email support and we'll switch it on for you.
- Which location: pick the Square location guests order from.
- The address guests will use: a short name for your page, then Save address.
- A look before it's live: Pull the menu from Square and fix anything it flags (hidden from guests, all sold out, no photo) in Square, then Pull again.
- On and off: switch on Take online orders. Under Change you can set pickup times, how many days ahead guests can order, and who pays the service fee.
Menus from other systems show as not available yet.
Pause orders
Switch off Take online orders: guests see that you're not taking online orders right now. Or ask the assistant: "pause online orders for 30 minutes." In-store orders aren't affected.
Sold out and hidden items
In Menu + promos:
- Sold out marks the item sold out in Square at that location, after Yes, do it in Square.
- On site hides an item from your ordering page without changing Square.
Or ask the assistant: "86 the acai bowl."
Catering
The Catering card on Menu + promos turns on Take catering orders, with a lead time, a minimum order and how far ahead people can book.
Delivery
Online ordering is pickup. RoleCall doesn't set up delivery.
